In A Nutshell
I'm Julie and I provide marketing, advertising and social media expertise for our clients.
With client-side experience in B2B companies in England and Scotland, I bring knowledge of what it's like to work with an agency and an understanding of what clients expect.
Much of my time is spent communicating with clients and making sure that they receive the high standard of service that we like to provide at Red Evolution. I'd describe myself as annoyingly reliable - I like to deliver on time and work closely with the rest of the team here to get stuff done!
As a non-techie, I can explain clearly what's happening with clients' websites and interpret the development jargon!
Background
One word: Marketing. Over the last 20 plus years I have managed marketing departments in an eclectic mix of industries including travel, construction, education and software. In 2008 I set up my own marketing consultancy, Début Marketing, which helped small Aberdeen businesses with marketing plans, campaigns and content as well as training them on social media strategy. Début Marketing became part of Red Evolution in 2016, combining my marketing knowledge with the existing skills of the team to provide clients with a full inbound marketing service.
Qualifications
I have a BCom (hons) degree in Business Studies and French, and a Diploma in Marketing (DipM) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). I was also one of the first Chartered Marketers in the UK and I maintain my Chartered Marketer status through industry-relevant continuing professional development.
When I'm Not At Work
I enjoy running, tennis and weight training as well as walking Oscar, the cockapoo, in scenic Deeside where I am lucky enough to live. Indoors I love to curl up with a chunky novel or watch repeats of Gilmore Girls.
I am the main organiser of social events for the local village, including the Hogmanay Ceilidh, Burns Supper and annual Fun Games which is the highlight of the calendar.
The rest of the time I spend worrying about my two student children who have now moved away from home, and checking if they are eating enough vegetables!
